This FREE resource contains one complete A4 pupil worksheet with 21 questions and a matching answer page with workings, plus a product-family guide. Pupils solve the maths, match answers to letters in the code grid and decode the hidden words.
Difficulty: Level 5 of 10 within this range (1 is easiest; 10 is most demanding). These levels are a guide to relative challenge, not GCSE grades.
Three questions from this worksheet:
1. A menu has 8 starters and 7 main courses. A meal consists of one starter and one main course. How many different meals can be chosen?
2. There are 4 roads from A to B and 7 roads from B to C. A journey goes from A to C via B. How many different routes can be taken?
3. A shop sells 6 different shirts. Choosing one shirt and one pair of trousers gives 48 different outfits. How many different pairs of trousers does the shop sell?
Use for focused practice, consolidation, homework or a lesson activity after teaching the method. Print the pupil page for learners and retain the answer page for checking. Follow the rounding and unit instructions on the sheet.
