Year 10 Maths Homework Booklet – GCSE Foundation Core | Half Term 6 Probability
Year 10 Maths Homework Booklet – GCSE Foundation Core | Half Term 6 Probability
Set meaningful Year 10 maths homework for the final half term without separate worksheets. This GCSE Foundation Core booklet provides 14 structured assignments for Half Term 6, with complete answers and mark schemes.
The booklet develops probability scales, single events and sample spaces; combined events, trees and experimental probability; averages and range, including frequency tables; charts; and scatter graphs and correlation. Each assignment is designed for approximately 30 minutes, with the checkpoint taking around 35 minutes. This question booklet has no dedicated writing space, so pupils answer separately.
Informed by recurring issues identified in GCSE examiner reports and assessment guidance, questions target errors such as probabilities not summing to 1, adding along tree branches, dividing a table total by its number of rows, ignoring pictogram keys and claiming correlation proves causation. Retrieval and spaced practice interleave earlier Year 10 content.
Each homework follows a consistent six-part structure:
IGNITE — retrieval and spaced practice
BUILD — current methods through deliberate variation
DETECT — commonly examiner-identified misconceptions
PERFORM — GCSE-style application
STRETCH — reasoning and depth within Foundation content
REFLECT — brief metacognitive review
The cumulative Mastery Checkpoint supports low-stakes assessment. Solutions include methods, tolerances, marks and examiner-style warnings for self-marking and low-preparation use.
