Year 10 Maths Homework Booklet – GCSE Foundation Core | Half Term 4 Geometry
Year 10 Maths Homework Booklet – GCSE Foundation Core | Half Term 4 Geometry
Set meaningful Year 10 maths homework for a full half term without sourcing and sequencing separate worksheets. This GCSE Foundation Core booklet provides 12 structured assignments for Half Term 4, with complete answers and mark schemes.
The booklet develops geometry and measures through angles in lines, triangles and polygons; perimeter and area of rectilinear shapes, triangles, parallelograms and trapezia; circumference and area of circles; volume and surface area of 3D shapes; units; speed; and density. Each task is designed for approximately 25–35 minutes. It is a question booklet with no dedicated writing space, so pupils answer in an exercise book, on paper or digitally.
Informed by recurring issues identified in GCSE examiner reports and assessment guidance, questions target errors such as confusing radius and diameter, area and perimeter, volume and surface area, or using a sloping length as a perpendicular height. Planned retrieval and spaced practice interleave prior content, while deliberate variation develops secure methods.
Each homework follows a consistent six-part structure:
IGNITE — retrieval and spaced practice
BUILD — current methods through deliberate variation
DETECT — commonly examiner-identified misconceptions
PERFORM — GCSE-style application
STRETCH — reasoning and depth within Foundation content
REFLECT — brief metacognitive review
The cumulative Mastery Checkpoint supports low-stakes assessment. Solutions include methods, units, rounding, marks and examiner-style warnings for easy self-marking and low-preparation use.
